Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge
Nasikia Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge is located in the heart of Tarangire, Tanzania’s wild land and landscapes. Tarangire is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and a gentle backdrop of baobabs. It is the lesser visited but more intriguing park on the northern circuit. At Nasikia Tarangire Camp, we have 8-10 mobile tents established in Tarangire during it’s most incredible time – 15th June – 31st Oct.
During these dry months, the massive elephants herds travel through the corridor between Manyara and Tarangire and spend their time in and around the park. This is because of their ability to uncover permanent sources of fresh water. We endeavour to retain the uniqueness and intimacy of the camp, while being directed by the location, wildlife and other factors of responsible tourism.

The lodge practices responsible tourism and is illuminated each evening by an extensive solar lighting system, with romantic lanterns lighting up the pathways between tented suites and the main camp. Be transported back to the days of early African explorers in the dining and lounge tent or enjoy drinks around the nightly campfire as the sun sets on another day in the Tarangire wilderness. There is no electricity at the camp but a generator runs in the evenings for charging electronic devices and cameras.
Enjoy simple but wholesome cuisine that is lovingly prepared by experienced safari chefs. Festive meals are taken at the dining table with fellow guests, followed by evenings around the campfire where you can share your wildlife encounters over a nightcap made from African marula fruit.

Experience Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge
Located in Tanzania’s intriguing Tarangire National Park, Tarangire Ndovu Camp offers a traditional tented safari experience along the famous northern safari circuit. The park is best known for its large elephant herds and rare tree-climbing lions, and game viewing becomes second-to-none in the dry season (about June to October) when wildlife flock to the Tarangire River for water. Look out for unusual savannah specialists that are endemic to the area such as the long-necked gerenuk, as well as other iconic wildlife like buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, antelope and zebra.
As one of Tanzania’s lesser-known reserves, you will enjoy crowd-free game viewing and can truly get to grips with the great vastness of Africa, its peace and its tranquillity. The golden plains of Tarangire are punctuated with open woodlands, dense riverine forests (ideal coverage for leopards) and a high density of Africa’s most iconic tree, the baobab. Ndovu is a mobile camp allowing you to experience the best that Tarangire has to offer at various locations throughout the year, and its mobile nature means a lighter footprint on the environment as well as an authentic and down-to-earth experience.
