As you enter the property the first thing you’ll notice are the trees. Hundreds of white thorn acacia and other indigenous varieties, effectively expanding the forest. Scattered among these local trees are mango, guava and other fruit trees. Where there are trees, there are birds! Ornithologists know that an area where two habitats meet is the ideal environment for a wide variety of species. Located between forest and open land, the eco-system supports many interesting birds including the rare White-tailed Blue-flycatcher, the beautiful African Paradise fly-catcher, weavers, African Harrier-Hawk and Augur buzzard just to name a few. At Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge the 12 en-suite tent are situated under a canopy of acacia and other indigenous trees and connected by a wooden walkway. Some tents come with an outdoor shower as well as an indoor one. Triples are possible as well as family tents.

Each tent has a spacious veranda where you can relax and enjoy the view of the Ngorongoro Forest, listening to the sounds of birds flitting through the trees. Comfortably furnished with double or twin beds, crisp linen and warm blankets for the cooler nights, you’ll find everything you need here.

Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge is fortunate to be in an extremely fertile area with a year round growing season. The result is a constant availability of farm fresh produce and meat, luscious tropical fruits and locally grown coffee. Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge source as much as they can locally, even the rice is grown within fifty miles from the lodge! - meaning, freshly baked bread and rolls daily.

Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge is simple yet it strives to make sure you are completely comfortable. You’ll definitely like their homely lounge and dining area created with rustic wooden floors and a “log-cabin” feeling. Here you can relax and read, enjoy a drink from the bar and take your meals.
